Volkswagen Touareg King of Cowes at Skandia Cowes Week
2007 saw the introduction of an exciting new event entitled the Volkswagen Touareg King of Cowes at Skandia Cowes Week. This high profile regatta brought togther the winners from the 28 most competitive classes at Skandia Cowes Week 2006 to race in Laser SB3 keelboats at a one day regattta sailed off Cowes on Friday 3 August 2007 to find the ultimate "King of Cowes". We provided a full event management service for the regatta.
For over a decade we have handled the day to day administration, communications and regatta management of the International Melges 24 Class. With regular international championships of 80-120 boats and more than 700 boats actively racing around the globe this class attracts many of the biggest names in yachting.
In association with our partner company Aura Custom Solutions Ltd we co-ordinate sailing related branding for Skandia, the world's leading independent provider of quality solutions for long term savings who sponsor sailors and sailing events around the globe.
During the Portsmouth stopover of the 2005/6 Volvo Ocean Race we organised a very special party for leading print company Pindar to honour of two of their sponsored sailors. The party not only met the client's expectations within a closely controlled budget, but also became one of the most talked about parties of the 9 month long Volvo Ocean Race.
In partnership with Aura Custom Solutions we supplied and installed a range of outstanding branding solutions for the 2006 Aberdeen Dragon European Championship. The brief required that we respect the wishes of the host club (the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron) and the class whilst also meeting the expectations of principle sponsor Aberdeen Asset Management.
British & International Dragon Class Associations
In 2006 Fiona Brown handled PR for the prestious Dragon Edinburgh Cup and the Aberdeen Asset Dragon European Championship, both of which were held from Cowes, UK. Following on from the success of our work in 2006 we have been commissioned to undertake further work for British and International Dragon Classes.
British & International Etchells Class Associations
We provided press officer and photography services for the International Etchells UK National and European Championships in 2006 and the 2007 Etchells World Championship, all hosted by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Cowes.
As one of the UK's premeire yacht clubs the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club Cowes hosts some of the most competitive and fun regattas on the Solent. Fiona Brown provides regatta PR and photography for the club's key events including the Vice Admiral's Cup and the Quarter Ton Cup.
Richard Faulkner Composites is one of several small marine industry companies for whom we provide marketing and PR services. Our work for these companies includes brochure production, web site development, boat show and product launch coordination and general PR and marketing.
Camper & Nicholsons Yachting Ltd
When the Nautor Group acquired Camper & Nicholsons Yachting Ltd, the historic British yacht builder, in 1991 they approached us to provide marketing support services working in close association with their Italian head office. Until the company transfered its operations out of the UK in late 1995 we handled all aspects of marketing including a full corporate rebrand and the launch of C&N's new luxury motor yacht range involving a wide range of media activities and boat shows.
Since 1991 Fiona Brown has worked with Event Network as part of the team responsible for the Royal Yachting Association's Sail for Gold programme, raising funds and awareness for Britains Olympic and Paralympic Team Sailors. The Sail for Gold campaign incorporates the prestigious Sail for Gold Ball hosted by Her Royal Higness the Princess Royal.
